This 1986 2nd Generation Prelude Si was bought new and owned by an Astrophysicist. It was meticulously maintained to original specifications by her Nuclear Engineer husband until it was retired in 2006. Purchased by myself in 2014, when it had accumulated 236,000 miles, the odometer now reads 278,000. This is a 32 year-old high mileage "daily-driver" with all that implies.

General after-market parts like spark plug cables, brake pads and so on are available. New or after-market specialized 86 Prelude parts, like the HVAC control unit, are no longer available and used parts are often worn out just like the defective ones removed.

The next owner needs to be a person like me who loves problem solving and has the ability to fabricate "work-around" parts that work reasonably well.

Complete records of almost $10,000 in repairs and all original records are provided. Most simple repairs were done by me. Restoration and modernization of the air-conditioner to R234a specifications, and complete rebuild of the front end suspension and steering systems, were done by Master Mechanic Roy Berrelez at Avondale Automotive on Western Avenue in Old-Town Avondale.

I am more than willing to show the new owner how different "work-arounds" function and Roy Berrelez knows this car well.

On the other hand the person who purchases this car does so "as-is". There will be no warranty for the obvious reason. While it starts and runs well it is 32 years old and has been driven the equivalent of ten times around the world. While it has never left me stranded it is fragile and the new owner will be personally responsible for all repairs.
