Knowledge refers to the specialized body of knowledge unique to the profession.

Ethics refers to the moral philosophy of practioners of the profession.

Standards involve ethics, knowledge and practice to include requirements identified as necessary to become fully qualified in the profession and rules for maintaining these standards by eliminating unqualified practitioners and preventing unqualified individuals from entering the profession.
