Alice & Les Lambert

Lester Theodore Lambert and Alice Bradley Lambert will soon be reunited at Maple Grove Cemetery near Bonfield, Illinois. Married December 8, 1950, after dashingly handsome athletic Lester saved beautiful blue-eyed blond Alice from drowning in Bonfield Quarry, they were married more than seventy years, so it is fitting they reside next to each other for eternity. Alice passed away on March 31, 2021 and Lester presided over her Memorial Service. Half of him being gone was too much of a burden and Lester departed life to join Alice on February 23, 2022.

Born in Kankakee in 1930, Lester bought a California house for his family down the street from Disneyland in 1960. Lester and Alice and daughter Suzanne (Christ), son Lester Theodore Lambert III, and daughters Juanita (Fast) and Laura (Hines) spent decades together, enjoying the adventurous yet affordable California beach, snow, camping, sport cars, sports, and creative arts life. With adult children and grandchildren scattered across America, Alice and Lester returned to the Bradley Homestead near Bonfield, Illinois in 1987 where Lester built a beautiful multi-story house in the forest.

Illinois winters, combined with the opportunity to live near Suzanne in a beautiful home with a pool in the shadow of the Superstition Mountains, enticed Lester and Alice to return to the sunny west near Phoenix, Arizona in 2010 where their lives together peacefully closed.

Private memorial services for family will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery later this spring when weather permits. Alice and Lester will lie next to each other for eternity.
