Organization Design: Five Essential Functions

 

There are five essential functions each organization must perform
no matter how large or small.

General Manager: Someone must oversee the entire organization.

Human Resources: Someone must make sure employees are legally hired, developed
and compensated.

Marketing: Someone must make sure the organization produces products and services
that a significant number of Paying Customers need so much they will actually purchase them.

Operations: Someone must insure that employees produce products and services of a quality
that satisfies Paying Customers.

Finance: Someone must make sure money is managed in ways that insure that revenue
owed flows in and payment of bills and taxes flows out in timely and legal ways.
